This is Twin Springs Daisy Mae.
She is beautiful, but rather tiny at the moment (as you can see when she is next to Jacqi). It was lovely to meet Sandy and her husband who were kind enough to meet us halfway. On the 6 hour drive home she didn't make a sound. We are all hoping that in my small flock she'll face no real competition for food. She spent all of today with her head either in a hay bag, in a grain tub or in grass lol so it is going well. I will take weekly weights to assess her progress but she does have nice long cannon bones to grow into.
Who can resist such a sweet face?
Daisy Mae already comes over for pets a little, and Jacqi seems to have really taken to her. I think she is a wonderful addition to my flock and hopefully will make just as good an addition to my breeding program eventually.
What a little beauty! She looks very refined and feminine.
ReplyDeleteAw, she has a milk moustache!
ReplyDeleteShula! She is adorable!!!
ReplyDeleteAwww, she is adorable. And I just love her name. So cute.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Shula - Daisy Mae is adorable :)
ReplyDeleteI love her markings....
Thanks everyone :) She is doing very well, and I think she is adorable too.
ReplyDeleteShe is a cutie! Yeah you got your moorit and white flecket. My Cotton Candy who started my Shetland obsession is Twin Springs too. So see what Sandy and Bill started here! lol
ReplyDeleteWhat is her breeding?
Thanks Kara. She is out of Firecracker and sired by Gideon. We are actually waiting to see how she grows before we register her so I don't know more of her breeding. Sandy and Bill sure do have a lot of sheep though.
ReplyDeleteLOL! My Twin Springs Cotton Candy is by GIDEON also and is my biggest ewe so I wouldn't worry to much about her growth..she'll get there. So your two new ewe lambs are half sisters to two of mine. High Bid Hester my black ewe is by Logan. No wonder I think they are so beautiful! Sandy does have some beautiful sheep. Her S'More is half brother to my Cha Cha, Silver Bell, and Serendippity, and her Jitterbug is half brother to Cha Cha. I guess I a consistent to what I am drawn to. Well anyways congrats!
ReplyDeleteLOL it's a small world. Thanks Kara.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty girl! Isn't Sandy delightful?
ReplyDeleteI bought a ram from Sandy last year and he was small, but boy did he play catch-up his yearling year!
Thanks Juliann that's good to hear, and yes Sandy was lovely to meet. I'm just planning to give her plenty of time to grow into her legs.
