What eggcellent surprise
Yeah it's a cheesy title I know. But today we got our first egg!
It is small but perfectly formed, and great for a first attempt. My powers of deduction lead me to believe that it is from Rosalie our Buff Orpington.
I just found your blog and had to comment...We just got our first batch of chicks and I can't wait until we get our first egg. I can just imagine your excitement.
Yes the first egg arrivals are very exciting. IN fact every egg is exciting lol. Congrats with your chicks. I love my chickens, they are such fun animals.
Congratulations - that is a great surprise, especially after all that waiting!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your lunch :)
Those first eggs bring a ridiculous amount of pleasure, and it really doesn't abate that much over time. :-) Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteWow! The first egg is very exciting. How old are your Buffs? Two survived my dog attack on the hoop house. They are beautiful birds.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! The first egg is always so eggciting. ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks Deb it was delicious.
ReplyDeleteLOL she has already laid 2 more and each one has been a wonderful surprise. I can't wait to see the easter eggers colors and the tiny silkie eggs.
Kara thanks. My chickens are just under 5 months old. Rosalie is my only Buff but she is lovely.
Christine LOL thank you.
